Jockey Club Community Outreach and Arts Education Programmes:

Gallery Walkthrough with Karena Lam at 'Noir & Blanc'

Since the invention of silver-based photography, the development of black and white photography has spanned over 180 years. The exhibition The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Noir & Blanc—A Story of Photography explores how photographers have utilized black and white photography as a timeless artistic medium to showcase their creative ideas.

French May Art Festival Ambassador Karena Lam will take a stroll with M+ Learning and Engagement Curator Gigi Leung in Main Hall Gallery to talk about how black and white photography brings different perspectives to our lens of looking at everyday life. Karena Lam will pick her favourite works and share the aesthetic value she sees in them. As a multifaced artist, will she find inspiration from these works, and will this influence her artistic practice and personal philosophy?

Co-organised by M+ and French May Arts Festival, this event is one of the activities under the Jockey Club Community Outreach and Arts Education Programmes exclusively sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

The tour is conducted in Cantonese. Register here.
