Introduction
A Japan and France co-production that unites Japan’s Asmik Ace with the acclaimed French animation studio Miyu Productions, blending
Japanese artistry with European craftsmanship in a single, visually rich feature. The film marks the feature-length directorial debut of
Makoto Shinkai collaborator and celebrated background artist Yoshitoshi Shinomiya, whose painterly style brings a unique texture to this
cross-cultural project. Set in a town on the brink of redevelopment, it follows three reunited friends as they race to save their family’s
historic fireworks workshop by completing a legendary firework using the mysterious pigment “Hanaryoku Ao,” transforming their bold plan
into a luminous journey of hope, memory, and new beginnings.
