Introduction

Join us for an extraordinary journey into the realm of sensory philosophy. Amidst the fragrant ambiance of Parfumerie Trésor, Professor Lo Kit Hung (PhD in Philosophy) will guide you on a whimsical journey of thought, awakening the timeless wisdom of French philosophy through the art of scent.

In the segment titled "Fragrance of Doubt," you will be guided to explore Descartes' method of skepticism. By discerning the intricate elements of a complex fragrance, you will engage in an experiential journey that questions the reliability of the senses, ultimately affirming the philosophical cornerstone, "I think, therefore I am," through deep rational reflection.

Transitioning to "Essence of Nature," the aromas that Rousseau cherished will envelop you in a vision of the natural state. Collaborating with fellow participants, you will co-create an ideal "social contract," transforming the innocence of the "noble savage" and critiques of private property into tangible experiences, allowing for a profound re-examination of the true essence of freedom and equality.

This is not merely a philosophical discourse; it is an immersive experience articulated through scent. We aim to reveal that the most profound thoughts can reach the soul through the poetic embrace of the senses, making philosophy a tangible wisdom of life, fostering a meaningful dialogue with oneself and society.
