Crowd

With Crowd, Gisèle Vienne continues her exploration of desire and the balance of power that determine interactions within a group of individuals, while questioning the singularity of each individuality. The identity of Dennis Cooper's characters is as much outlined as it is erased, gradually dissolved by the crowd, whose slowness contrasts with its latent power.

Bombyx Mori

In this trio performance, Ola Maciejewska draws inspiration from Loïe Fuller's signature work, Serpentine Dance. She brings the iconic legend face to face with her paradoxes and intangible character. The title, Bombyx Mori, refers to the silkworm, which has become entirely dependent on humans for its survival. Dance, archives and artifice are interwoven in this performance, engendering a metaphor for the hybrid nature of things.

Passages

Passages is a roaming project that explores the relationship between body movement and the spaces in which the performers exist. By acting on imaginary objects, the performers make the multiple dimensions of the places they inhabit resonate. The production is specially redesigned for this performance in Hong Kong.

Fragments (Film Screening)

Following the performance of Passages, the film Fragments proposes a different approach to the dancers' bodies. The film reverses the usual relationship of dance to the camera. During the shooting, the frame was physically materialised to allow dancers to precisely position their bodies within the space determined by the camera.

Save the Last Dance for Me

Save the last dance for me is the fruition of Alessandro Sciarroni's investigation of an Italian folk dance, Polka Chinata. With a history dating back to the early 1900s, Polka Chinata is a courtship dance typically performed by men who embrace and whirl while bending their knees to the ground. In saving the traditional dance from extinction, Sciarroni created a duet performance and a series of open workshops to promote and revive this once-popular tradition.
