Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France
Founded in 1937, from the outset the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France has collaborated with distinguished conductors such as André Cluytens, Rafael Kubelik, Wolfgang Sawallisch and composers such as Aaron Copland, Heitor Villa Lobos and Pierre Boulez. In recent times Valery Gergiev, Gustavo Dudamel and Esa-Pekka Salonen have followed in that tradition, alongside the orchestra’s music directors Marek Janowski, Myung-Whun Chung and now Mikko Frank. Since 2007, the Orchestra has been a UNICEF ambassador.
In the Beethoven’s Triple Concerto, joining the Orchestra’s concertmaster Svetlin Roussev are home-grown cello virtuoso Trey Lee and the latest winner of the International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in 2015, Dmitry Masleev.
