In this delightful programme of 20th-century French musical treats, French conductor Sylvain Gasançon takes you to the Swiss Alps with Honegger’s atmospheric tone poem, and also leads you through a fascinating insect garden created by Roussel. Along the way, hear master orchestrator Ravel’s depiction of a little princess dancing a beautiful pavane, and a tribute to his friends in the Couperin suite. Born in France, HK Phil Co-Principal Flute Olivier Nowak will showcase his virtuosity in Ibert’s light-hearted concerto.
