Divertimento is adapted from the true story of Zahia Ziouani. Young Zahia's dream is to become a conductor, while her twin sister wants to become a cellist. Lulled since their earliest childhood by classical symphonic music, they in turn wish to make it accessible to everyone and in all territories. But dreams are always hard to achieve when facing reality – their social background and gender. The two sisters later entered the famous music high school in Paris but were not accepted by other students and were considered to have unrealistic dreams. However, with determination, passion, and courage, they successfully founded their own orchestra – Divertimento.  

The movie lasts around 114 minutes without intermission.
