Beyond Borders

BEYOND BORDERS is a cross-cultural art exhibition featuring 30 international artists running from May 18 to May 21, 2019. It has been organized under the curatorial team, Christel Villepelet from Children of the Mekong, along with Agnès Mabille and Camille Chaumette from MABILLE & CHAUMETTE – Art Exhibition.

This event will be held at the prestigious Loft 22, a renowned art gallery reaching relevant audiences.
BEYOND BORDERS is a powerful dialogue between multi-cultural artists and between different media art works. This exhibition brings together renowned contemporary artists from the European art scene and from the Asian world, some of the participating artists being previously displayed in famous places like Palais de Tokyo, Grand Palais …

Art can produce a visceral response and can provoke, inspire and opens one’ s eyes to worlds other than your own. Art can transcend barriers, strengthen understanding and stimulate greater compassion. Artists have been invited to exchange ideas related to themes of identity and belonging, internal and external, reality and aspiration in order to raise questions about the impact of education for empowerment. Thanks to this exhibition, we aim to offer children a broader perspective, a better future and help them cross the frontiers of their living conditions.
All artists are socially conscious partners in celebration of Children of the Mekong’s 60th anniversary and they are generously donating their time and talents. 100% of the profits will fund access to education for underprivileged children in the Philippines.

Children of the Mekong is an international NGO with headquarters in France. Since 1958, Children of the Mekong has made it possible for poor children to regain dignity by giving them access to education.
We act in seven Southeast Asian countries: Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Burma and China (Yunnan Province).
Our mission is to support, educate and train the children we have in our care. We improve their living standards and help them to grow intellectually, emotionally and morally.
Our values are: respect every human being regardless of their circumstances, culture or religion; and trust, loyalty and selflessness.
