With over three decades of existence, the French May Arts Festival has become a cultural gem in Asia. In 2025, the festival is thrilled to continue pushing artistic boundaries, connecting Hong Kong, Macao, and France through the power of art. This edition continues to showcase the strength of collaboration, bringing together world-class institutions and artists from each country to foster a rich exchange of ideas and artistic expressions.
Inspired by this year’s theme, ‘Vive L’art’, and true to its original mission, French May strives to enrich the knowledge of its communities, demonstrating a deep commitment to both education and inclusivity. ‘Vive L’art’ embodies the long-standing objective that has driven this esteemed cultural event—an irreplaceable fusion of international influences and distinctly local elements to bring arts to Hong Kong’s local communities.
2024 marked the 60th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations and was the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism. This year, the ground-breaking collaboration between the Musée National Picasso-Paris, M+, and impactful concerts, will blend Cantopop, jazz, and French music—featuring artists from both countries, to truly represent the continuation of the strong Sino-French cultural bond.
This bond is, and will be strengthening, with the unwavering support of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Hong Kong Jockey Club, and our sponsors and partners. We are deeply grateful for their invaluable contributions which allowed French May to become the multifaceted, educational, and cultural institution it is today

The French May Arts Festival is back for its 32nd edition, ready to enchant Hong Kong with a vibrant showcase of French culture. Under the theme ‘Vive L’art’, this year’s festival celebrates the timeless wonders of French artistic heritage while fostering the evergrowing dialogue between Hong Kong and France.
This edition kicks off with an unmissable highlight, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Series: Picasso for Asia – A Conversation. Co-presented with M+ and the Musée national Picasso-Paris, this groundbreaking exhibition brings together over sixty masterpieces by Picasso and 130 works by Asian artists, offering a fresh, cross-cultural perspective on the legendary artist’s legacy.
The festival’s rich programme features outstanding performances across disciplines. From the timeless beauty of Giselle with French star ballet dancer Hugo Marchand, to the captivating sounds of cellist Gautier Capuçon performing Shostakovich, and from the dynamic jazz energy of Erik Truffaz, to the exciting collaboration between Cantopop sensation Jay Fung and French singer Joyce Jonathan, there is something for every taste. The Parade Ground of Tai Kwun will come alive when the renowned Remue Ménage troupe transports audiences to a whimsical Belle Époque-inspired parade.
Gastronomy lovers will also be delighted by French GourMay, which this year highlights the diverse world of French spirits—whether as a key ingredient in cooking, a component in cocktails, or a refined digestif.
Thanks to the invaluable support of our friends, partners, patrons, and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, French May continues to build cultural bridges and enrich everyday life through the arts. This year’s festival is once again about touching everything, being everywhere, and for everyone. Get ready for an exhilarating artistic season—let French May inspire and amaze you!
