Hong Kong – French Connections: Architectural regeneration of rural areas

During this event, participants will be invited to reflect upon the revitalisation of rural areas through architectural projects. How to respect and preserve both the social identity and the natural surroundings of sites located in the countryside? What are the ecological and sociological challenges along the way? 

With a programme including keynote speeches, panel discussions, and case studies, this event will provide valuable insights and practical advice on how to revitalize rural areas through architecture with innovative and sustainable solutions.

 

French regeneration stories (3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

Short presentations by CUHK students: comparative studies on French and Hong Kong cases.

 

Cross-perspective talk (4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

Comparative analysis of the educational approach to revitalise rurality through architecture.

 

Hong Kong French connections (6:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.)

Conference with Françoise GED, Simon Teyssou and Hong Kong experts including: Stephen Tang, Wallace Chang, Brian Anderson

 

French countryside flavours (7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)

Networking event featuring French delicacies.
