Born in Saint Cere, France in 1953, Gilles Rieu, worked 20 years as a social worker with destitute children and adults. He started working as a full time artist in 1994 and had numerous exhibitions in different parts of France, Canada (Quebec City), Israel (Jerusalem), USA (New York and San Francisco), Vietnam, Japan and Guangzhou, China.

He travelled extensively in where he showed his works and his encounters in these countries have very much influenced his works. He has prepared paintings solely for this exhibition – notes of his travels and dreams of this part of the world.
